For over 35 years the world’s best have descended on the Midwest in early January for the racing New Year.  In January of 2023, Hoosier RC Hobbyplex reinvigorated the tradition, hosting the first annual Clash of Champions to replace the lost CRCRC Midwest Champs.  Racers from across the globe showed their support to the tune of 412 entries. 

 A format like none other, the Clash of Champions uses 2wd buggy, 4wd buggy and stadium truck to qualify a group of mod racers and a group of stock racers into a final race, known as the Clash.  The Clash is an 8 minute heads up race in which the victor is taking home a check of $2000.  Last year, Dakotah Phend took home the big prize in the mod class and Doug Lariviere was the stock champion. 

 Of course there is a full slate of other classes as well, including independent and 40+ groupings.  A worldwide live race stream is scheduled as well as facility upgrades inspired by this year’s IFMAR World Championship venue.  All of this very well may lead to the Clash of Champions being one of, if not the largest, 1/10 off road races in the world.

 Unpaid entries will be deleted on January 2nd or sooner (depending on need to cap entries)

 Event entries will be capped if there are enough entries to produce 40 heat races in our effort to provide an enjoyable length of program

 DATES and SCHEDULE:

 -January 2nd and 3rd: Any racers arriving early are welcome to set up their pit area during shop hours, noon to 8pm

-January 4th: Official controlled event practice

-January 5th: Seeding and Qualifier #1

-January 6th: Qualifier #2 and #3 and completion through C Mains

-January 7th: A and B Mains, Clash for Cash races (trophy presentation following final mains)

-Thursday, January 4th: Doors at 8am, on track activity 9am to 8pm

-Friday through Sunday, January 5th through January 7th: Doors at 8am, on track activity at 9am
